National Public Radio is one of the most popular talk radio shows today. They bring information about everything to their listeners in education segments and shows. They have interesting interviews and discussions with people who actually know what they are doing. NPR is another type of media (as a radio station) that has made the jump online spectacularly. While there are many many people who do not listen to radio anymore in their cars or at their work there are still many people that listen to NPR. This probably has to do with the success that is their website.  Their format is great. There is a lot of large easy to read titles that show you where ever you need to go.  There are written article as well as links to listen to streaming content. There are all sorts of categories on anything you would be interested in. There are also podcasts. In this day and age it is very important to have podcasts if you have anything audio related. More and more people are stopping switching between FM or AM radio stations to hear what they want to hear. They have their music on their mp3 player and they now have their news on it too. When people also have news that is easily portable via their cell phones it is important to have content that will hold a listeners attention. NPR does a great job with doing that. They have such a variety of information available and they have a great listener base. Their listeners are what keeps them alive though. They make a lot of money from donations to the stations. NPR is one of the last biggest radio stations still going. It doesn’t seem like they will stop anytime soon.
